By rubbing vinegar or some other anti-fungal ingredient on a ringworm infection, one can get rid of it after a week or so. Vinegar is mildly acid (2.4 pH 3.5) and will dissolve the membrane of the fungus that causes ringworm, killing it.

This cure works fast because it makes sustained application of the anti-fungal ingredient on the affected area. One can get rid of ringworm after 3 applications of vinegar soaked bandage for one hour or more with each, or within a day time.

Like acne, one just does not get rid of it by scrubbing the skin. The bacteria is always present but does not cause acne in healthy individuals. Likewise, people who advise one to wash clothes, clean furniture to prevent ringworm are off the mark. I think it is impossible to avoid ringworm spores. The only effective prevention is to treat the factors that make one susceptible to infection. I think people with high pH level on their skin are prone to infection. I haven’t looked into ways to boost one skin’s acidity factor.
